Does this course prepare you for a certification?

Yes, you will be prepared for the (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist certification exam offered by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Exam eligibility requirements to complete the ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist Certification:

  • The academic eligibility requirement to take the ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) certification exam is a bachelor's degree or higher with a major in exercise science, or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Provider or CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification

How does the internship work?

You will research and find sites of interest with the instructor's help. The internship site coordinator and you will agree to an hourly/weekly schedule that accommodates everyone's schedule. It is reviewed by the instructor and confirmed. The internship site coordinator tracks hours and completes an evaluation form at the end of the internship, confirming hours served and providing you an evaluation. During the internship, you will complete projects and evaluate the site as if you were a fitness/health manager and give the site a final grade for future reference.

When can I start this course?

This course is open enrollment, so you can register and start the course whenever you are ready. Access to your course can take 24-48 business hours.

How long does it take to complete this course?

After you register, you will receive 9 months to complete the course. The time allotted for completion has been calculated based on the number of course hours.

What if I don't have enough time to complete the course within the time frame provided?

If you are unable to complete the course, contact your Student Advisor to help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that an extension fee will be charged. If you are funded through a third-party organization, approval may also be required.

What kind of support will I receive?
